Visiting a college campus is always full of excitement. You’re looking forward to seeing the campus, meeting new people and learning what your future could hold. On other university campus visits you sit and listen to speakers most of the day, and tour the campus with a large group of people. Not at National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) – and especially not during our kick-off to the St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Chicago!

Here are a few of the reasons visiting NUHS on March 15 will be worth the trip.

1. Experience one patient case with three approaches.

Watch our chiropractic, naturopathic and oriental medicine/acupuncture student interns work with a simulated patient – taking the patient history, making the diagnosis and suggesting treatment protocols. You will be able to consider the differences among the three approaches as they all work with a single patient presenting the same symptoms.

2. Explore our curriculum through a cadaver demo.

An emphasis on human dissection for anatomy training has always been a hallmark of our curricula here at NUHS. At Campus Visit Day, you will experience much more than just a tour of the lab! You’ll see a demonstration with a pre-dissected cadaver and get an overview of what is learned about the human body and the anatomy courses in your program of interests’ curriculum. All graduate students at NUHS have access to the NUHS Gross Anatomy Lab that offers the same features found in top caliber medical schools.

3. Get hands-on in our integrative on-campus clinic.

No matter what program you’re interested in, you will spend time exploring our integrative on-campus clinic, including our various treatment rooms such as the Hydrotherapy SuiteTraining and Assessment Center and Herbal and Supplement Dispensary. These state-of-the-art facilities enhance the clinic experience for NUHS students.

4. Ask questions of alumni and students.

There is no better way to discover the ins and outs of a program than speaking with alumni and current students. You will have the chance to speak with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences who were once going through the same decisions you are making now. You will learn about the journey of each person, their reasons for pursuing a NUHS program, their experiences as a student and much more.

5. Get travel reimbursement and earn tuition credit towards your first trimester.

We know that for many of our students traveling long distances, often from out of state, is a big commitment for a university visit. That’s why we are offering eligible visitors* a $500 travel reimbursement for this unique event. Another great benefit of attending Campus Visit Day is being eligible to receive $500 tuition credit towards your first trimester in one of our graduate programs. Who doesn’t want the opportunity to earn free tuition credit? (Note: this tuition credit only applies once regardless of which event, or the number of visits or events attended. The MSMS program is exempt from this tuition credit. Approval from the Admissions team is required to obtain the credit.)

6. Stay to experience a Chicago-style St. Patrick’s Day!

Chicago is home to one of the most famous St. Patrick’s Day events in the world – when the Chicago River turns green and the city’s politicians and celebrities join in the St. Patrick’s Day parade. Whether you choose to make the short drive or train ride into the city to be Irish for the day, visit a museum or take in a concert or sporting event, or choose to stay near campus to shop at one of several nearby malls, explore the area and enjoy one of the many amazing local restaurants, it’s a great weekend to make the trip.

So, what are you waiting for? If you’re looking for a unique opportunity that will help jumpstart your journey in integrative health, we invite you to join us for the next Campus Visit Day.

If you’re interested in learning more about an upcoming Campus Visit Day, visit our website for event details and to reserve your spot!

*Visitors who apply to a graduate program and live a minimum of 75 miles from campus may be eligible for up to a $500 reimbursement for travel expenses. A Travel Reimbursement Form must be completed and submitted with approved receipts.
