I have officially been in the clinic for one month now (4 weeks) as an intern. I have been able to see a handful of patients and have genuinely enjoyed getting to know each of them. I have loved researching solutions for each of their individualized needs, which has helped me come up with treatment plans for them. Most importantly, I have talked with my clinicians to get ideas on how to proceed. I am pretty sure I said this in a recent blog post, but it is worth mentioning again: ALL of the ND clinicians are AMAZING in the NUHS student clinic! They are all super helpful, knowledgeable, resourceful, and they all want us to learn and grow in our clinical knowledge from our time as interns in the clinic. What an incredible blessing it is to enjoy working with every single one of them!
I have also really enjoyed getting to know some of the upper trimester students. In clinic, we get to interact with all the 8th, 9th, and 10th trimester ND students. I didn’t know some of them very well prior to being in clinic, so it has been fun getting to learn from each of them. There continues to be great comradery (as with our coursework time on campus), and people seem to genuinely want to help one another. I love being in that type of a supportive atmosphere!
I have focused some resources on building my personal library for my internship, but also for my clinical practice one day. These are just some of the resources I have invested in this trimester. They are all awesome resources!
