I've been saying it all term, but really, where has all the time gone? With the craziness of the snow days and holidays, time just seemed to fly. This was the first weekend in a while that I haven't had to work, go to a seminar, or do anything else besides study; and there is always studying to be done.

So, what do you think I did with all of my "free" time? The answer is about 50 loads of laundry! Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but it sure felt like it. It seems like the kids have been asking me for help finding socks for weeks; we had to have a conversation about how if they are not putting their things in the hamper then they will continue to have none. It's a glamorous life that I lead, I know.

Speaking of the kids, we had extra time to play and watch some movies. Sunday morning they spent hours pretending to be zombies after drawing elaborate body wounds all over themselves (yep, those are my kids) with washable markers. I was so happy to be around to witness all of their silliness.

Having time meant that I got to cook every meal that I ate this weekend. I miss having time to cook, not only for my own enjoyment, but for how much better my body tends to feel when I have time to feed it properly. Coming in to finals, my body really could use the extra love.

Some people on campus are gearing up to begin the "Whole 30" challenge next week. At this point, I am considering it though my start date may be a little bit off of theirs to prepare my house for this undertaking.

It's one month of eating real food and removing things like alcohol, dairy, grains, legumes, and sweeteners from your diet. The doctor that is behind this event spoke to us about trying things out for ourselves makes it so that when we recommend them to our patients, we can say that we've done them too and understand the challenges that they might be having. I am notoriously terrible at following a prescribed diet plan, and I would rather not eat anything at all than have to keep track of my food items in a diet diary. So as a future doctor of chiropractic, I think it's about time that I figure out how to make this work.

Next time I write, I should have started Whole 30, so I will update you all on the challenges I have had while undertaking this test of will!
