While everyone in basic and clinical sciences is studying for finals, I am looking around asking, “Where did the time go?” I almost can’t believe Trimester Nine is up. In another week I will be done with Clinical Internship II and will be moving into my final trimester at NUHS.

Though I am almost done, there is still a lot of work to be done. I have to finish obtaining my numbers to graduate. Each intern needs to fulfill a certain criteria to pass their trimester and to graduate. I am on track but I still need to fulfill the requirements for adjustments, observed adjustments, blood draws, urine collections, patient visits, and more.

We also need outreach hours, which I will obtain this weekend while volunteering for the Florida Senior Games. I am happy to say I officially passed Part III and PT of the National Chiropractic Licensure exam. The only score I am waiting on is Part IV, but I will announce it as soon as possible. I want to make a point that I have passed parts I, II, III, and PT thanks to my education at National. I felt very prepared for each exam and that is definitely a strength of this institution.

While there is still time before I graduate, I am taking advantage of all St. Pete has to offer. My colleagues Kelsey and Flo ran a 5k with me this past weekend in Downtown St. Pete. It was the inaugural St. Pete Run Fest! During the weekend there was a half marathon, 10k, and 5k run. We all signed up for the 5k as it was kind of a last minute thing and none of us really trained for it. I am happy to say I won 3rd overall for males and was 1st overall in my age bracket from 20 to 29.

The event was catered by Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and Bonefish Grill. Runners also were given one free smoothie from Tropical Smoothie Café and two free beers from the local 3 Daughters Brewery. It was an amazing day! We enjoyed our run, the food, the drinks, and the beautiful view of the marina in downtown. There is so much to do in St. Pete I am happy to have been able to spend my time here.

Maybe I’ll stay because of how amazing this area is. The time is approaching when I will need to start looking for an associateship. I have been updating my Curriculum Vitae and looking up positions all around the country. There is obviously a lot of work to be done for my professional opportunities in addition to my graduation requirements. I see the light at the end of the tunnel, FULL SPEED AHEAD!
